i have an old linksys wireless-B router (BEFW11S4) and i want to use it as a workgroup switch. i don't know much about networking so i don't know how to do it if it is possible. My main router is a D-Link (DIR-655).|||Just log into the web interface of the linksys router to configure it and turn off the dhcp server function and then plug a cable from the dlink router to the linksys in one of the LAN ports and you can use it as a switch. Just dont plug anything into the WAN or internet port. |||Run a cable from one of the new router's LAN ports to one of the LAN ports on the old router. You can now connect to the other LAN ports on th eold router, and even connect wirelessly.
You probably don't have to turn off NAT and DHCP in the old router, but that would be the first thing to do if things won't work.
