Linksys E1000 Router Setup Issue?

Ok, so here is the deal. I have a D-Link router currently, that failed, so I went out today and bought the Linksys E1000. When I got home I went to set it up and followed the instructions. But, I got an error message that the setup could not find my router. I contacted Linksys support. Not much help there except to keep telling me to reset my router and try again.

Another note: My mom works from home and we have a modem, that is connected to a Wired D-Link Router for her work computer to have a wired connection. The old D-Link router was connected into the back of the wired D-Link router for it to work. So obviously I unplugged the old D-Link Router from the wired router and then plugged in the new E1000 into the wired router, and then continued to set it up. But, again to no avail.

So, can anyone offer any help? I would really appreciate it.

Thanks a lot!|||you can reset the router all you want, but until the operating system realizes that things have changed, it will make no difference art all..from a command prompt, type (w/o the quotes"")

"ipconfig /release " and press enter. then, type "ipconfig /renew" and press enter. then, type "ipconfig /all" to see all the routers setup found, and their shiny new bindings and protocols...exit from the command prompt, and restart windows before you try to use them, so the new values will be written into the registry for the next session..|||is your wireless wifi swtiched on, dont turn them on together, modem first...wait...router last
