I installed linksys software and it blocked my windows automated configuration. Everytime I reboot my laptop, I have to go to Run:services.msc, start the Windows Zero Configuration, go to Windows wireless connection and enable "Allow windows to configure the wireless connection settings" manually. I also have frequent problem with connections where I need to restart the router and the laptop. I have uninstalled the linksys software and I am still experiencing this problem. Anybody know how to fix this???|||Sounds like a couple of things...
I would look at the drivers for the wireless card you have to download the manufactures drivers.
Linksys router, download the latest version of the router OS and all current patches.
What OS are you running, check to see if you have the latest patches or at least the min. XP service pack 2.
I would download Network stumbler see who else is in your network vicinity , you may have too many people on the same channel and this can cause congestion. You can change these settings in the router.
Lastly check on the boards about Linksys...there were some problems with the software on certain revs, but Linksys did not release this information to the general public, for that very reason I no-longer use Linksys, I now use netgear.
Also interference can cause problems, microwaves, cordless phones. Check your cordless see if it is a 900mhz or if it is operating on the same freq as the wireless.
Hope that helps.
