I just bought a linksys befsr41 router and i do the setup just like it says to but at the end it says router ?

at the end it says router not found what do i do i did the setup like 100 times unplugging everything and all that good stuff and it still says router not found when i type 192.168.1.1 in my url it wont load i reseted it and it still does the same stuff |||Hi,

you need to make sure the router is setup correctly. let me give you some info.

Ok, make sure the router is plugged in to teh wall for power. Next plug in the rj45 cable to the LAN port and plug the other end into your network card. If you do not have the (usually blue) rj45 cable plugged into your pc, then it won't find the router.

Let me see what the ip address is for your router. ok 192.168.1.1 is correct.

here is the manual: http://www.linkwan.com/gb/download/bookl鈥?/a>

in case you don't have it.

It also says to do the following once you hook it up:

Press the Reset button on the front of the router. Hold the button in for

three seconds, or until the Diag LED illuminates red. This restores the

router鈥檚 default settings.

by the way, do not put your blue cable from your pc into the WAN hole, put it in any of the plugs labelled 1 -4.

If the router is plugged in you will have lights, so if no lights then no power is going to the router.

If you have lights, then check the network rj45 cable is in the LAN not WAN port and the other end, plugged into your network card. Make sure the cable ends are pushed all the way in.

then go to the 192.168.1.1

Hope this helps.|||linksys was pure misery for 2 whole years yuck-o

I shoved it in the closet

then I hooked up my apple 铮匡? airport to 11 computers in 55 minutes.

My ibm-lifer husband was amazed. I just smiled and said,' that is how computers are supposed to work".

never loss the connection either|||Linksys.com/support is great; live chat is good. I had a bad BEFSR41 and they replaced it promptly...
