The WEP key is set by logging in to your router then choosing the "Wireless" tab (2nd from the left) and then "Wireless security". The easiest way is to specify a passphrase, which will generate the WEP key(s) - you only need the first one.
These days, WPA is recommended because it provides better security. WEP is more compatible with older wireless equipment.
