Linksys WRT54G wireless router setup help!!!?

ok, so i set up the Linksys WRT54G wire to my Mac.

My Mac's internet is from a cable hooking up to a cable box.

I put the Ethernet cable that came with the Linksys into one of the ports of the cable box.

and then unhooked th cable that provides internet to the computer from the cable box and hooked it into one of the 4 ports in the back of the wireless router.

I finally put in the IP address into the address bar and went through all the settings .

But then when i tried to continue to go onto other sites after the setup, the internet wasnt working.

Then i tried the internet on my PSP and it wasnt working either.

Whats the problem??

What am i doing wrong??

What do i need to do??|||Your connection should be from the cable box the cat5 wire goes to the wan or internet port of the router.

The cable from the computer goes to one of the 4 ports on the back of the router.

Nothing will access the internet until you get this configured correctly.

You may have to go through the Linksys getting started section to actually connect to the internet.

Good luck|||connections are reversed. cable modem to router via ethernet cable to the port on the opposite side of the 4 ports. the router to computer connection uses one of the 4 ports.|||Doesn't it have a setup cd, all Linksys routers guide you through hooking the cable from the modem into your port separate from the 4 LAN ports, and than plugging a cable into a LAN one and than into the Ethernet jack on your MAC. Although I just thought maybe those setup cds are for windows only.

Check out this link below, it will defiantly help you

http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite鈥?/a>|||I have a Dell, and I had the same problem too. Then I called Linksys and they said that one of the wires (i guess yellow) is supposed to be connected to the DSL box, NOT the computer. If this doesn't work, call Linksys for help.
