Help with linksys router setup?

hello. i am trying to make my house wireless with the linksys router. i have comcast internet and i am trying to hook it all up right. this is my router i baught in 2005 and dont have no cds's for it. i need to know how to hook it all up right. please help|||Connect the Ethernet cable from the WAN or Internet port of the router, to the only port on your Cable or DSL bridge.

Pull the electrical cord from the back of the Cable or DSL bridge for 10-15 seconds. During this time the Router has to be connected and on. Once the lights all go "green" on the bridge, your router is connected to the Internet. Now reboot your computer and enable the wireless on it. It should be connected to the Internet.

Next you need to secure your router. Visit the Linksys site and input your model to get the PDF manual for your router.

Right click on your connectoid, then click Status. Now click on the support Tab at the top of the page. The IP address next to "Default Gateway" is the IP address of your router.

Type or copy and paste that IP address into your favorite web browser. Now log in to the router and set up the security.|||The easiest way, is just call their 1-800 number, I dont have it handy. But if you call you can get a security setting also. They have a 24 hrs service. Trust me , it will be easier and quicker than this.|||Comcast requires mac address cloning too on your linksys router. It is in your manual how to turn on.|||all of the previous answers were correct, but to elaborate:

Considering you have a linksys router...

1.) Connect the router to any PC via a LAN (RJ45) cable first, it has to be plugged in to the electrical outlet of course :-) .

2.) Open a web browser, and in your address bar open the website with the address 192.168.1.1 ----%26gt; this is the configuration page of the router

3.) If you havent touched the configuration settings of the router, the default username would be admin and password would either be blank or 1234 or even admin1234

4.) If you cant logon using the said username and password, simply press the reset button of the router for about 10seconds

5.) Once you've logged on to the router, find the "Configuration Wizard".

Good luck!
