How do I setup my HP Desktop PC to a Linksys router?

I have an hp pavilian a1483w media center desktop. I also have a WRT54G Linksys router that I would like to use in order to have wireless access to the internet. The other computer in my house is setup with a high speed internet modem with AT%26amp;T. Can you please give me step by step instructions on how I can do this? I go to the HELP AND SUPPORT and it says:

Open Network Connections.

Click the wireless network connection icon, and then, in Network Tasks, click View available wireless networks.

Under Related Tasks on the left, click Change the order of preferred networks.

Click Add.

In Network name (SSID), type a name for the wireless network.

In Network Authentication, click an item in the list.

If this is a security-enabled network, in Data encryption, select the encryption method.

In Network key, type the network key, and then in Confirm network key, retype the key.

The only problem is....when I look to the left there is NO tab that says related tasks. Please help! Thank you!!!!|||Hey,

First thing to do is check if your new computer has a wireless card in it. If it does, then you should see a little icon in your windows taskbar near the volume and time with a little computer and little waves coming out of it.

If you do not have a wireless card:

1. Plug your modem into the WAN slot of your router.

2. Plug each computer's ethernet port to one of the available LAN/numbered slots of the router.

That's it!

If you have a wireless card:

1. Plug your modem into the WAN slot of your router.

2. Plus your other computer into one of the slots in the back of yoru router.

3. The new computer will access your router via wireless.

a. From your wired computer, open a browser window and type 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. You should be prompted for a username and password. Try blank and 'admin' or 'admin' and 'admin' or 'admin' and 'adminadmin' or combinations of these.

b. Once logged in, you will have access to the router's configurations. There should be a wizard for you to run. You may also want to do a little research here to make sure you know what you're doing. Only change the wireless settings and put a WEP password.

c. Your wireless computer should now detect nearby networks and you can click that little computer icon on the taskbar to choose which network to connect to and change other preferences. Choose your network and enter the password in the settings.

That should be it.
