Accessing the linksys setup page to open the LAN on the router.?

i have an xbox 360 an it has a really slow connection. when i try to connect it will disconnect me with in a few minutes. it also tells me that i have a strict LAN setting. so i went to the xbox web page and found a site that showed me how to open my LAN. but it says i have to type in 192.168.1.1 into the browser and the linksys setup page should come up. but whenever i type that in the computer says that it cannot display the webpage. i have a BEFSR41 linksys router. it would be of great help if anyone coud tell me how to access the setup webpage. thank you|||Do you have a computer that uses the same router for internet access? If so and it is running Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP, simply click your Start button and select Run from the start menu. Inside the Run window that pops up type "cmd", without the quotes and hit Ok.

If it is Microsoft Windows Vista or 7, simply click your Start Orb and click inside the search box of the start menu. Inside the search box type "cmd", without the quotes and hit your enter key.

In either case a black window will pop up called a command prompt. Inside this window type "ipconfig /all" without the quotes and hit your enter key. Look for the number next to Default Gateway; this is the number you want to enter into the address bar of your web browser.

It may present you with a login; the defaults will be blank, as in empty, for the username and "admin", without the quotes, for the password.|||You have to type in YOUR computer IP adress. Just google "what's my IP adress" to find it out. THEN type in that IP adress into your URL. There you will find your Router System SetUp page|||Linksys router addresses

|||You may have at some point changed your IP addressing scheme.

To find out the correct address on your computer click START %26gt; RUN %26gt; cmd %26gt; OK

A black screen should appear, in it type: ipconfig

Ignore the advice given by Tyler above, that will tell you your external IP which wont help, you need the internal IP of your router to configure it.

Then press enter.

You will see a load of information, look for something that says "Default Gateway", at the end of the line it will have an IP Address, this is the address you need to type in your browser.

Make sure your typing it in without any www or .com litterally just the numbers and the dots.
