Make sure your computer, router and modem are turned off. Take one of the Ethernet cables, connect one end into one of the four open ports on the back of the router, and connect the other end into the computer.
Step 2
Take the second Ethernet cable and connect one end to the modem and the other end into the "Internet" port on the back of the router.
Step 3
Plug the AC adapter for the router into the router and an outlet. Then turn on the devices in this order: modem, router and computer.
Step 4
Open Internet Explorer and type "192.168.1.1" as the address. A screen will pop up, asking for a username and password. Leave the username slot empty and type "admin" into the password slot.
Step 5
Create different settings based on your Internet connection. Generally, nothing will need to be changed. Once all of the information has been double-checked, save any changes and exit.

You might need to call your ISP and tell them the MAC address on your router to enable it on their end. Your ISP can tell you.
