Hi; I've been trying to setup my Linksys wireless router (WRT54G). The desktop I have it hooked up to works fine and connects to the internet through the router, but my laptop (when connecting to the network) warns me that there is an IP address conflict. I'm not savvy when it comes to this kind of thing, so can anyone explain what to do?|||try this, go to cmd (start%26gt;run, type in cmd then enter) type in ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew, the first command will release your ip then the next will get you a new one. if this doesnt work, i think you have a static ip in your laptop
if you are using windows xp, right click on wireless network adapter then click on properties
select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) then click properties
click on Obtain IP address automatically
click on Obtain DNS server adress automatically
click ok then click ok again
you should be able to get a new ip by now.
hope that helps
Edit: I just edited the line above.
