Linksys wireless router setup help?

OK, sorry about the long question but heres my problem. I live out of town and my internet access is wireless through an antennae on the roof of my house. That antennae attaches to a radio card in my PC. Now the tricky part. Because the internet comes directly into my PC I am using it as a router. In the past I have then run a CAT5 line from the ethernet card in the router PC to the wireless router. I would then access the internet from my laptops through the wireless router. The problem I'm running into is that nobody at linksys knows how to do this since the PC is the actual router. With everything hooked up this way the linksys setup program doesn't recognize that the wireless router is attached. Does anyone have any ideas? I can't figure out how to set it up. Help!! (Router is a WRT54GS incase you wanted to know.)

Thanks|||Hum...

You've got quite a problem! I suggest going back to where you got the router and telling them the problem. I have Linksys and the router I have is a Wireless-G Broadband router with SpeedBooster Model WRT54GS, same as yours. We has tremendous issues getting it installed, hours and hours each day, for a week or so. We had it set up to the computer, but there was always a problem with the laptop picking it up. We went to a troubleshooting guide, I think it was by linksys themselves. Trust me, i know. It's a TON of work. But I hope what I have said will help!|||do you mean your using your pc as a hub|||I believe that the linksys would have to be configured as a wireless access point. i'll do some reading and get back to you wallleye@yahoo.com

computer 1 is the router and has the rooftop antenna plugged into it.

computer 2 is a laptop plugged into the network card of computer 1 (it should be able to connect to internet) right? do whatever you have to, to make the laptop connect to internet at the same time as computer 1

do not connect router at this time

put the router cd in the laptop and the cd will determine what settings are needed and save them on the laptop

then, when the cd tells you to, put the router between the laptop and computer 1, router WAN to computer 1, and router port 1 to laptop (then the laptop will transfer the settings to the router)

now you have 2 on the internet

computer 1 acts as a satellite modem and likely uses microsoft internet connection sharing (or something similar) to share the satellite internet signal with 1 other device. Then the linksys router multiplys the signal.

Hey ICTBU you done yet?
